Some more info on me
My goal is to provide the client with an enjoyable, honest service by satisfying individual needs with a quality product that can be used as a marketing tool beyond completion.
I have been working with websites since 2013. But I’ve been designing stuff since I was small. I grew up in theatre, learning how to collaborate with others, work toward a common goal, and create something that is larger than the sum of its parts.
In 2013, I started teaching myself web design and coding out of books. My first job as a junior designer introduced me to WordPress, one of my favorite things ever. I also learned about SEO, social media marketing, website security, and just how to run a business well. I struck out and started my own business (Allie Nimmons Creative) in 2016.
I’ve been a speaker at WordCamp Miami where I spoke on how I train my clients. I have a second business called BEAM that focuses on web design for non-profits. And I also proudly serve on the board for the non-profit Always Mothers Luncheon as the Internet Marketing Manager.
I live with my novelist boyfriend in North Miami and I love coffee, creepy podcasts, RPG video games, and stray cats.
Check me out at the Grace Hopper Celebration in 2018! I had also cut my hair and gotten new glasses… it’s still me, though!
I believe that no matter how “techy” you are (or aren’t!) you need to know the basics of how your enormous investment (your website!) works.
I put a premium on education by providing free consultations, educational blog posts, and free WordPress training for life for all clients.
The sites I build need to be useful and usable for all types of people on all types of devices, no matter who your target audience is.
And you as the client need to have the access – physical and mental – to be able to use the site to reach your goals.
My goal is always to strike a perfect balance between art and marketing. Aesthetics and goals. Form and function.
A professional site doesn’t just mean created by a professional. It means seeing both the big and little picture to create a seamless user experience.
what’s all the talk about?
My clients seem to like me!
“Allie has a great eye for design, is highly organized, and has a can-do, professional attitude.”
We really appreciated the thoroughness, attention to detail, and care throughout the process. Great value! AND we’re very happy with the resulting website:
– Kieth Hitchcock, Hocus Focus Media
“I had been dreading the process, but working with Allie was SO EASY.”
She made the process clear, simple, streamlined, and effective. She honed in right away on the look and feel I was after, spiffed up my whole brand, and even created a logo I love in almost no time flat. I wanted simple, effective, crisp, and fast, and that’s exactly what I got. I highly recommend working with her!
– Geraldine Carter, Focused Business Coaching/She Thinks Big
“The development process went very well, from our initial kick-off and through every subsequent delivery milestone.”
Additionally, Allie did an excellent job of instructing me in some of the details of web design so that we could interact efficiently, and with the added benefit that I can perform some of the minor website tasks in between major checkups.
– Troy Bennett, Mental Break Mobile
“Allie asked all the right questions in order to design the exact website I had envisioned.”
The result was better than I imagined. One thing I liked was how Allie outlined each step and I knew exactly what she needed from me to do her job. I would recommend Pixel Glow to anyone looking for a website that will be easy to navigate and simple to maintain down the road.
– Marla Gibson, Alder Street Salon
“Pixel Glow Web Design did an amazing job with improving my website performance!”
Allie made website loading time so much faster. I am so excited that potential clients don’t have to stare at a blank screen when they click on my link! My website is operating better and Allie exceeded my expectations!
– Avista James Holland, Sophisticated Affairs
“I’ve been working with Allie for a year on my website and have had a great experience with her.”
She’s very professional, always punctual, easy to work with, knows her stuff and has helped keep our site running smoothly. I’d highly recommend her!
